Event title:  THE FEAST OF ST. VINCENT

Organiser: Wine Producers and Viticulturers Association "Peharček", Municipality of Gornja Stubica and Tourist Board of Donja Stubica and Gornja Stubica area

A Holy Mass is held by the Chapel of St. Vincent in Modrovec, followed by a cultural and artistic programme, which takes place next to the Rody restaurant in Samci. Wine Producers and Viticulturers’ Association "Peharček" will mark the beginning of the works in vineyards and promote wines of the Stubica region. Participants: Art and Culture Association "Matija Gubec", pastor, Brass Band of the Firefighters’ Association of the Municipality of Gornja Stubica, Municipality of Gornja Stubica, other associations within and beyond the Municipality of Gornja Stubica.

Event title:  PEASANTS’ REVOLT ANNIVERSARY – URGING OF THE PEASANTS TO UPRISING

Event dates: February 6th

Organiser: "Fellowship of the Knights of the Golden Chalice" Association, Peasants’ Revolt Museum

Demonstration of both court life and peasant life, and the preparation of the uprising organised by the Fellowship of the Knights of the Golden Chalice.

Event title:  PEASANTS’ REVOLT – BATTLE OF STUBICA

Event dates: February 7th

9 am Jura Stubičanec Park (by the fountain) – departure of hikers on the 45th hiking campaign "Following the trails of Gubec’ Rebels", organised by the Hiking Society Stubičan

11 am Jura Stubičanec Park – Mediaeval Fair, along with the offer of typical delicacies from Zagorje and the performaces of the Cultural-Artistic Society Stubica

1.30 pm Parade of the revolted peasants towards the Majsec Mill estate

2 pm Majsec Mill – spectacular Battle of Stubica

Event title:  ST. GEROGE’S DAY

Event dates: DURING THE WEEK PRIOR TO THE FEAST OF ST. GEORGE

Location: Gornja Stubica

Organiser: Municipality of Gornja Stubica

Traditional St. George’s week: St. George’s concert in the Parish Church of St. George the Martyr in Gornja Stubica, St. George’s exhibition in the Cottage Under the Linden Tree, St. George’s Day bonfire – a cultural and sports event, cultural and entertainment programme, religious programme, the Feast of St. George the Martyr, Patron Saint of the parish on April 23rd 2015 – central Mass Celebration at 5 pm – church of St. George the Martyr, St. George’s Day Half Marathon – – 100 runners expected from all over Croatia. Besides the main race, which is 19.3 km long, other races will be organised for preschool and elementary school-age children, as well as a race for all participants. Races will be of amateur and promotional character, aiming to promote sports and recreation, so everyone is invited to participate.

Event title:  MEETINGS FOR RUDI

Event dates: May 9th-10th

Location: Sports Centre in Gornja Stubica, Church of St. George the Martyr, Memorial Rudolf Perešin, and Peasants’ Revolt Museum

Organiser:Municipality of Gornja Stubica, City of Zagreb, Aeronautical Technical Center Rudolf Perešin and the Tourist Board of Donja Stubica and Gornja Stubica area.

Event taking place in remembrance of the Homeland War hero Rudolf Perešin.

On the first day there is the opening of the exhibition on the life and work of Rudolf Perešin, with accompanying programme and aeronautical fair.

On the second day, there is a Mass Celebration in the Church of St. George the Martyr, followed by laying of the wreaths by delegations and institutions in the Memorial Park, speeches, cultural and artistic programme, as well as an airshow in the Sports Centre. There will be concerts, performance by majorettes, fusball tournament and so on. Airshow: flights of MIG and light aircrafts, parachuting, etc. It is one of the largest aeronautical meetings in this part of Europe.

Visitors can enjoy an all-day entertainment programme and culinary delicacies from the land of Matija Gubec (strepa – a type of traditional pie, pisanica stubica – pork meat baked with plums and wine, etc).

Event title:  KNIGTHS TOURNAMENT – MIDDLE AGES IN CROATIAN ZAGORJE

Event dates: June 13th

Organiser: Peasants’ Revolt Museum

This event consists of various cultural and tourist attractions aiming to present the custums and way of life of the late mediaeval period to the general public.

Participants: Peasants’ Revolt Museum, Fellowship of the Knights of the Golden Chalice, knights’ associations from other parts of Croatia and abroad, other associations from the Municipality of Gornja Stubica, Municipality of Gornja Stubica.

Event title: ZAGORJE TRIATHLON

Event dates: end of June or beginning of July

Location: Gornja Stubica, Bedekovčina

Organiser:

individual and team national championships of Croatia in sprint thriathlon conferred by the national sport federation: Croatian Triathlon Federation. The triathlon scores will count toward the Croatian Cup. Large numbers of competitors are expected from all over Croatia, as the race will be the Croatian championship for all age groups, as well as from neighbouring Slovenia due to its open carachter.

Event title:  INTERNATIONAL FOLKLORE FESTIVAL

Event dates: July 4th

Location: The Peasants' Revolt Museum, Gornja Stubica

Organiser: Art and Culture Association Matija Gubec

Art and Culture Association Matija Gubec from Gornja Stubica is the organiser of the International Folklore Festival, where four folklore societies from different countries will perform with around 200 performers. Art and culture associations from the Rupublic of Croatia and neighbouring countries will gather at the festival.
Participants: aside from aforementioned associations, participants include associations from the Municipality of Gornja Stubica, Peasants’ Revolt Museum, Municipality of Gornja Stubica, Krapina-Zagorje County.

Event title:  SUMMER AT THE ORŠIĆ CASTLE

Event dates: July 1st – August 4th

There will be eight to ten concerts of classical, ethno, jazz and blues music, as well as one theatre play.

Organiser: Athletic Club Rudolf Perešin

A traditional race that takes place on the occasion of the festivities of Days of Modrovec. Race scores will count toward the Road Cup 2015 according to the rules of the Croatian Association for Road and Mountain Running - HUCIPT. Besides the main race of 10.5 km, there will be races for preschoolers and elementary school-age children, as well as a race for all citizens. Races will be of amateur and promotional character, aiming to promote sportsand recreation, so everyone is invited to participate.

Event title: QUEST FOR STUBICA’S TREASURE – adventure run

Event dates: September 12th

Location: Donja Stubica, Gornja Stubica

Organiser: Tourist Board of Donja Stubica and Gornja Stubica area, Sports Association Stubica

Acknowledgement to the historical and cultural heritage of the region of Matija Gubec with orienteering-trail race with tasks that competitors have to overcome (navigating with a map, basketball handling, target shooting with a spear, shooting with a paint-ball gun, etc). One does not necessarily have to be the fastest in order to win, which makes the whole competition even more interesting. This race aims both to entice participants to explore and to raise awareness of the importance of playing sports.

Event title: GUBEC’ CHESTNUTS - "MOŠT REZANEC I KOSTANJ PUCANEC" (YOUNG WINE AND POPPING CHESTNUTS)

Location: By the Gubec Linden Tree, Gornja Stubica

Organiser: Vine Producers Association Peharček, Art and Culture Association Matija Gubec, Hiking Society Stubičan and Tourist Board of Donja Stubica and Gornja Stubica area

Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the flavours and fragrances of roasted chestnuts, which they previously picked themselves, as well as young wine of Zagorje, delicacies prepared with chestnuts, and there will be an accompanying entertainement programme.

It is a traditional St. Martin’s Day in Slani Potok. Besides the mass, there will be a programme presenting various traditions and cultural performances, as well as a tasting of young wine.

The Peasants’ Revolt Museum organises the Advent Fair in the Oršić Castle, which is of humanitarian character, to mark the first Sunday of Advent. Besides the traditional fair, we would particularly like to mention workshops open to all visitors. These are creative museological workshops, creating Christmas ornaments and greeting cards. Participants: associations from within and beyond the Municipality of Gornja Stubica.

Event title: COUNTY CHRISTMAS CONCERT "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL"

Location: Parish Church of St. George the Martyr in Gornja Stubica

Organiser: St. George Society

This traditional Christmas concert "Merry Christmas to you all" will take place at St. George’s Church in Gornja Stubica on the occasion of the Christmas period. Performers: associations from Gornja Stubica, as well as performers from Krapina-Zagorje County and the Republic of Croatia. Participants: other than the aforementioned performers, the pastor, Municipality of Gornja Stubica, Krapina-Zagorje County.

Music and singing associations of Gornja Stubica organise their New Year’s concert in the sports hall of the elementary school. Participants: Tambouritza orchestra of the Art and Culture Association (KUD) Matija Gubec, Brass Band of the Firefighting Association of Gornja Stubica, St. George’s Vocalists, Female Vocal Group Jurjevke, Female Vocal Ensemble Fiola, Matija Ruk- guitar as well as other solists, Art and Culture Association (KUD) Matija Gubec, Children’s Folklore Group, Children’s Choir of the Elementary School Matija Gubec from Gornja Stubica, St. George’s Society, other music and singing associations from the area of Gornja Stubica, Elementary School Matija Gubec Gornja Stubica, Municipality of Gornja Stubica.
